Doreen and John got married on 27th March, 1954.  They had three bridesmaids, in yellow dresses with gold coloured boleros, Marjorie (Doreen's youngest sister), Mary and Carol (John's cousins).  John's best man was his friend Den.  They married at St Mary's Church, Walton-on-Thames and had their reception at The Swan Hotel, also in Walton-on-Thames. They had their honeymoon on the Isle of Wight. They were married for nearly 47 years but sadly John died a month before their anniversary.
